Before we begin posting pictures from Facebook albums (and there are lots), we'd like to share this video of the final point in the Boracay-Ninja Cowboy Bear quarterfinals on Sunday morning. We'll leave our comments to ourselves, but see for yourself what the controversy was all about.

After Spirits, a group of Frisbee players descended upon the paradisaical island of Boracay to relax and play more Ultimate. Here are two videos, the top one from a beach hat tourney on Thursday, the bottom one from Tuesday.

Highlights from finals of last year's Manilla Spirits between Black Flag and Team Philippinas.

a.k.a. the Derek Ramsey show

The Chinese mega-media-conglomerate CCTV's sports channel, CCTV 5, is showing a replay of the USA-Japan finals from July's World Games as we speak. Here's the URL for Internet streaming.

For you Mac users who don't have Internet Explorer, you might be able to download the game after the fact from Zhibo8.

If getting onto CCTV 5 (thanks to Richie of Tianjin, by the way) isn't impressive enough, here's a highlight of the game on ESPN's SportsCenter, top play No. 8 out of 10.

And a series of much higher quality videos can be found here.

Anyone who's been around China Ultimate long enough has probably turned up in a Balance Wang video at one time or another, but recent conjugal obligations have kept Balance and his trusty camera away from the Ultimate scene. Could Tianjin's Richie be a replacement?

Judging by these videos... maybe. He's got a bit of catching up to do, but this is a good start.

Jim and Joe as Doozers from Fraggle Rock

Thursday, April 23, 2009

You wear six articles of clothing that are the colors of the Rubik's Cube (red, yellow, blue, white, orange, green) and by night's end try to leave wearing a solid color. The ambitious (e.g., Joe Pellicano of Beijing) may try to go through each of the six.

Please allow the team from Beijing to demonstrate...

BEFORE:

Mike and Jim, who didn't completely follow the game's rules

Sandy and Joe

Lauren, Brian and Kevin

Tao

Lauren and Hsing-Hui

DURING AND AFTER:

Mike and... Mike

Among other notable sights: a guy dressed in a one-piece spandex thong-suit jiggling his ass cheeks (too inappropriate to post); Nads of Shanghai stuffing an oval balloon down his pants and yelping after Jim popped it with a pin; members from Cocksuckers (no, really, that's their team name) performing various acts on balloons; a certain trade involving a Superman shirt...

In case you're wondering, the team from Guam called GuamBATS won the party award.

If you haven't gotten the picture yet, here are two videos:

The Philippines' Sunken Pleasure beat Beijing Big Brother 15-12 in the finals. Neither team had more than a two-point lead until the very end. Congratulations to Sunken Pleasure, who became the first non-Manila team from the Philippines to win an international sports tournament.
